Kwanzaa… requires us to know who we are and practice the progressive development of our people.
It is more than a cultural celebration….but a mental and physical stimulation towards freedom.
So why don’t we celebrate Kwanzaa?
Ya ever hear this line: Is Kwanzaa like that Black holiday?..I mean really?
Now if Kwanzaa is indeed a “Black” holiday for Black people, then doesn’t it make sense for Black people to engage in it. If we are not celebrating a Black holiday…then whose holiday are we celebrating?
How many of us grew up with Kwanzaa?..How many of us teach Kwanzaa to our children? Is it really more important to us for our children to know more about something that has nothing to do with them than to teach them who they are?
Kwanzaa…teaches the truth about our heritage and ironically Black people prefer a holiday where we do more lying to our children than any other day of the year.
Kwanzaa….requires us to support Black business, to uplift our communities through unity, creative events and knowledge….Now tell me…..should this not be our family tradition?
You see we have latched onto what whitey has taught us; dipped it in chocolate, as one of my brothas would say and have now called it our tradition.
But we should never claim anything that is a mechanism for white supremacy as our traditions.
Can you imagine….Looking at our ancestors in the face and telling them that our holidays has no reflection of them at all?…or that it doesn’t even matter?….I wonder what they would say to us?
Kwanzaa…was created for Us…by Us…it encourages us to practice Kujichagulia…Self-Determination.
All 7 principles are elements to apply to our Beautiful Afrikan selves all throughout the year because we should always celebrate and remember who we are.
Ne who…just a random Afrikan thought
Peace after Freedom and Happy Kwanzaa from Black Power Media!

But the “J” in Kujichagulia is for jesus *blank stare*
