Introducing “The Maat” W/ Sese of Treble Army
Recorded, Thursday August 26th, 2010
When you say culture, you are going to have to start talking about artists and writers and poets and allkinds of other aspects of the art world. In the art world, the artist’s first thing is to try to capturepeople’s minds to get their attention on the depravity, the oppression or the indignity, the unconsciousnihilism and the self-destruction that is going on around them.So culture is very important because, like I said, that’s the artist. These are the people that know how toget to people’s souls and touch their minds and get their attention, because the best thing an artistcould do is … We might not turn nobody into revolutionaries or into hard core radicals, but if we canget them to think it, if the artist could get them to think it, then we’ve done our jobs. And the other politicians or revolutionaries, that’s when they come in and get those minds.
-Umar Bin Hassan
“Radio, television, film, and various other means of
communicating with the masses of people are held by the power elite, who are constantly seeking to undermine, co-opt, or exterminate resistance to the superstructure keeping this decadent society breathing. The MA’AT must, through unity and struggle, seize these media and develop alternative, sustainable media simultaneously in order to 1) break the chains of brainwashing and 2) prepare for the breaking of these chains by having independent media.”
