Haiti Bluez: Libation & Lyrics

Haiti47

There comes a time when poetry needs to do more than just rhyme. It should have a purpose and not only that it should provide encouragement and inspiration in a positive sense when it becomes a message to Afrikan people. Haiti Bluez intends on doing just that through his poetry and spoken word. His inspiration was created through respect for himself, our ancestors, our children of now and the future as well as the divine creatress/creator as he like to put it.

Haiti Bluez is an Afrikan (unapologetically) born in Brooklyn and is now residing in South Florida and has been doing spoken word since 1997. Over that time he like the rest of us has developed a great deal of love and concern about the liberation of Afrikan people across the Diaspora. He stated: Black people means everything to me. The mothers/fathers of civilization cannot meet common ground on one issue to help better improve their situations. Our ancestars those who fought/died for us to keep us going deserve much better then the horrible ways we have treated ourselves. We must respect our foundation and lose this pseudo engineered way of thinking which many of our own embrace in forgetting our indigenous roots/culture. That is straight nonsense. His message to the people is to know “ourstory” and that as an Afrikan people our history is a global one. Black- Afrikan people will rise again.

He has several future endeavors. The first is his debut album “ L’union Fait La Force” –Haiti Earthquake mixtape. It will consist of hip hop, singing and spoken word from Haiti Bluez as well as several other conscious artist. All proceeds will be donated to Yele Haiti, so check it out. Also, he will be releasing another mix tape titled “G’ZU’s Ra’turns”- Year of the Griot Spoken Word.
